ANALYSES of P-Tst-1, P-Tst-3 and P-Tst-6 RETROTRANSPOSONS IN CONVENTIONALLY AND ORGANICALLY PRODUCED TOMATOES

Yılmaz KAYA

Tomato is one of the best-studied cultivated dicotyledonous plants in molecular studies. Mobile genetic elements constitute large parts of plant genomes. Retrotransposons are mobile genetic elements within the genome and constitute more than 60 of the tomato genome.Transposable elements (TE) or transposons are DNA sequences that can alter their position within a genome, cause mutations and change the genetic identity of the cells and genome size. We aimed to analyze potato specific-P-Tst-1, P-Tst-3 and P-Tst-6 retrotransposon movements in tomatoes at different developmental stages (mature seed ...Daha fazlası

Molecular evidence depicts genetic divergence among Agropyron elongatum and A. cristatum accessions from gene pool of Iran

Hossein ZEİNALZADEH TABRİZİ

The genus Agropyron has an important role in soil protection and forage production in rangelands. The investigation utilized 37 ISSR primers, resulting in the detection of 956 loci within the A. elongatum genome and 705 loci within the A. cristatum genome. The findings revealed a high level of polymorphism, with 97 of loci in A. elongatum and 84 of loci in A. cristatum exhibiting variability. Notably, the primer (AC)8GCT emerged as a promising candidate for evaluating genetic diversity due to its ability to amplify numerous loci in both species. Using both the UPGMA algorithm and Bayesian anal ...Daha fazlası

Применение флуоресцентной спектроскопии для оценки качества термически обработанного молока = Application of fluorescent spectroscopy to estimation of quality of heat-treated milk

Asılbek KULMIRZAYEV

It was shown that fluorescence ...Daha fazlası

Molecular Characterization of Native Entomopathogenic Fungi from Ambrosia Beetles in Hazelnut Orchards of Turkey and Evaluation of Their In Vitro Efficacy

İsmail ERPER

Simple Summary Turkey is the world's largest producer and exporter of hazelnut. Ambrosia beetle species are the most common species of pests for hazelnut in the orchards of Turkey. These beetles cause enormous economic losses by draining hazelnut branches and trees. The techniques for managing ambrosia beetles are limited. The more effective and eco-friendly alternative control methods, including the use of entomopathogenic fungi (EPF), should be included in integrated pest management programs to suppress ambrosia beetle populations. The objectives of the current study were (i) to isolate EPF ...Daha fazlası

Investigation of genetic diversity of squash (Cucurbita maxima Duchesne) genotypes collected from Erzincan in Turkey

Atilla DURSUN

Plant genetic resources constitute the most valuable assets of countries. It is of great importance to determine the genetic variation among these resources and to use the data in breeding studies. Cucurbita maxima species in the Cucurbitaceae family have high genetic diversity, but molecular genetic diversity studies of this species are insufficient in Turkey. To determine the genetic diversity among genotypes of Cucurbita maxima species of squash, which is widely grown in Erzincan, 14 different squash genotypes collected were examined based on the morphological parameters and molecular chara ...Daha fazlası
