Blockchain-Based Systems in the Public Sector

The effective use of innovation and technology in public administration. Blockchain technology ensures both public government agencies and citizens with reliable and secure information, it provides all with easier access to critical public-sector data. Blockchains are digital ledgers that are encrypted. A public or private network store it on multiple computers. A database consists of records, or “blocks”. No single actor can alter or delete a chain of blocks once it has been formed. Automation and shared governance protocols are used instead to verify and manage them. Blockchain technology is now being accepted as a fundamental infrastructure for visionary and effective governments. It allows governments to streamline processes and improve coordination without compromising transparency, fairness and accountability. This technology ensures transparency, as it records all data and operations in its distributed ledger, which is open to everyone. Once the data is recorded in the block of the ledger, it is virtually impossible to change it.
