First Molecular Evidence of Babesia vogeli, Babesia vulpes, and Theileria ovis in Dogs from Kyrgyzstan

Ayperi Aytmırza Kızı

Tick-borne parasitic diseases cause mild to severe infections among vertebrate hosts, including dogs. Species in the genus Babesia are important tick-borne pathogens and have worldwide distributions. Although there are data on the prevalence and distribution of Babesia species among dogs around the world, there is no information available in Kyrgyzstan, according to a literature review. In this study, 337 dogs were screened by nested PCR for the presence of the 18S small subunit ribosomal RNA (18S SSU rRNA) gene of piroplasm species. Overall prevalence was 6.23 (21/337) for Babesia/Theileria s ...More

Köpeklerde Canine Parainfluenza Virus Tip 2'nin immunfloresan ile araştırılması

Orhan YAPICI

Amaç: Köpeklerde Canine Parainfluenza Virus Tip 2 (CPIV- 2)'nin varlığının immunfloresan (IF) ile araştırılması amaçlandı. Tüm ör ...More

Comparison of the Impacts of Medet omidi ne/Ke tamin e and Medetomidine/Propofol Anesthesia and Their Reversal by Atipamezole on Echocardiographic Values in Dogs

Ayperi Aytmırza Kızı

The reaction of the cardiovascular system to anesthetics can be various and different, based on dosing, the experimental model, and agent sele-ction. A few studies have compared the effects of different anesthetic agents used for trans-thoracic echocardiography on cardiac functions in dogs; however, none of these studies examined the effects of different anesthetic regimes and their reversal by atipamezole echoc ardio graph icall y. The aim of this study was to investigate, visualize, and clarify in vivo both the short-term echocardiographic impacts of medet omidi ne-ke tamin e and medet omidi ...More

Molecular Survey of Hepatozoonosis in Natural Infected Dogs: First Detection and Molecular Characterisation of Hepatozoon canis in Kyrgyzstan

Ayperi Aytmırza Kızı | Zarima CUMAKANOVA | Ayday CUNUŞOVA

Canine hepatozoonosis is a tick-borne protozoan disease and widespread in Europe, Africa, Asia and America. There is not any available data about the presence of Hepatozoon infections in dogs in Kyrgyzstan. In the study we aimed that investigate the presence of Hepatozoon canis and the prevalance of Hepatozoon infections in dogs from Kyrgyzstan using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequence analysis. To determine the prevelance of hepatozoonosis in dogs, a total of 170 blood samples were applied to PCR to amplify a fragment of 666 bp found in 185 SSU rRNA gene of Hepatozoon spp. The PCR re ...More

Canine coronavirus infection in dogs in Turkey: Virological and serological evidence

Orhan YAPICI

In the present study, virological and serological investigations were performed to determine the presence and prevalence of Canine corona virus (CCoV) infection in dog population in Turkey. Sera samples were analyzed for specific antibodies against CCoV by indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (i-ELISA) while leukocyte samples were inoculated onto monolayers of Madin Darby Canine Kidney permanent cell culture. The cells were examined for viral antigen by direct immunofluorescence (IF) test after third passage. CCoV seropositivity was found in 46 (24.46%) of 188 dogs by indirect ELISA whil ...More

Findings of parasitological and doppler echocardiographic examination in dogs with heartworm disease = Kalp kurdu ile enfekte köpeklerde parazitolojik ve Doppler ekokardiografik muayene bulguları

Murat KİBAR

The purpose of the study reported here was to determine echocardiographic findings in naturally heartworm-infected dogs, and evaluate these findings to use in the diagnosis of adult worms in the pulmonary artery. Sixteen male dogs (8.8%) of the 180 dogs in our study, weighing 7.5-42.0 kg, ranging in age from 1 to 8 years, were determined to be positive for Dirofilaria immitis according to the results of membrane filtration and antigen ELISA tests. Dogs identified with adult heartworms in their blood were evaluated by parasitological. The mean worm burden in infected dogs was 4730 ± 5479 (min: ...More

Патогистологические изменение мозжечка и спинного мозга при чуме собак

Nurbek ALDAYAROV

A 40 dioptre acrylic lens with 13 mm haptics was implanted into the lens capsule. In the left eye, posterior synechia was detected in the temporal part of the iris, but decentration of the intraocular lens was not observed. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of bilateral cataract caused by ophidism and treated by surgic ...More
