Benzotiyofen@Pd as an efficient and stable catalyst for the electrocatalytic oxidation of hydrazine

Hilal DEMİR KIVRAK

An efficient methods for the synthesis of 2-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-3-iodobenzo[b]thiophene (4) is described, and investigated its anode catalyst performance by using electrochemical methods (CV, CA and EIS). When 2-(2,5dimethylphenyl)-3-iodobenzo[b]thiophene (4) is applied, the specific activity is found as 25.811 mA/cm(2). Interestingly, when Palladium (Pd) is electrochemically deposited on the benzothiophene derivative, the catalytic activity increased the 80.930 mA/cm(2). This result is highest than the current metal based anode catalyst. Moreover, EIS and CA measurements display that Pd dope ...More

A techno-economical assessment of treatment by coagulation-flocculation with aluminum and iron-bases coagulants of landfill leachate membrane concentrates

Mehmet KOBYA

Landfill leachate treatment involved with the membrane bioreactor (MBR) combined with membrane treatment via nanofiltration (NF) and/or reverse osmosis (RO) is widely used in Turkey. This treatment produces landfill leachate membrane concentrates (LLMCs) with an undesirably high concentration of contaminants. In the study, two different nanofiltration concentrates of leachate were coagulated. Coagulant dosages from 0.10 to 5.0 g of Me3/L (Me3: Al3 or Fe3), and the pH values ranged from 4.0 to 8.0 and 3.0-9.0 for Al-based and Fe-based coagulants, respectively. The most efficient pH values were ...More

Effect of delamination size, location and boundary conditions on the behavior of a laminated glass plate

Ebru DURAL

Laminated glass is made by combining glass layers with polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or a different adhesive with the help of heat and pressure. Its popularity is increasing in the building industry as a protective material. However, despite the popularity of laminated glass as a structural material, delamination is recognized as a highly undesirable problem inducing major damage to laminated glass. The effect of boundary conditions on the delamination strength of laminated glass is observed in this study. It is concluded that the location and size of delamination have a considerable effect in deter ...More

Method of additional argument in problems of optimal control

Ramiz RAFATOV

The problem of control of the process described by the nonlinear differential equation with partial derivatives of the first order, with conditions at t 0 and in a sequence n of points x1 < x2 ... < xn is solved. The criterion of quality of control is the integrated quadratic functional, which depends on a final state of system and set n of controlling parameters. The method of increment of functional is applied to reception of conditions of optimality, and the method of additional argument (MAA) is applied for the decision of the nonlinear equations with partial derivatives.
