Exponentially Convex Functions on the Coordinates and Novel Estimations via Riemann-Liouville Fractional Operator

Ercan ÇELİK

In this study, the modification of the concept of exponentially convex function, which is a general version of convex functions, given on the coordinates, is recalled. With the help of an integral identity which includes the Riemann-Liouville (RL) fractional integral operator, new Hadamard-type inequalities are proved for exponentially convex functions on the coordinates. Many special cases of the results are discussed. Keywords: hadamard-type inequalities; rectangle

The Consecutive Substitution Method for Boundary Value Problems (BVPs) with Retarded Argument

Ercan ÇELİK

In this study, we applied an approximate solution method for solving the boundary value problems (BVPs) with retarded argument. The method is the consecutive substitution method. The consecutive substitution method was applied and an approximate solution was obtained. The numerical solution and the analytical solution are compared in the table. The solutions were found to be compatible. Keywords: approximate solution; boundary-value problem; numerical solution; retarded argument; solution methods; substitution method; boundary value problems

Invariant Solutions and Conservation Laws of the Time-Fractional Telegraph Equation

Ercan ÇELİK

In this study, the Lie symmetry analysis is given for the time-fractional telegraph equation with the Riemann-Liouville derivative. This equation is useable to describe the physical processes of models possessing memory. By applying classical and nonclassical Lie symmetry analysis for the telegraph equation with & alpha;,& beta; time-fractional derivatives and some technical computations, new infinitesimal generators are obtained. The actual methods give some classical symmetries while the nonclassical approach will bring back other symmetries to these equations. The similarity reduction and c ...More

Well-Posedness and Blow-Up of Solutions for a Variable Exponent Nonlinear Petrovsky Equation

Ercan ÇELİK

In this article, we investigate a nonlinear Petrovsky equation with variable exponent and damping terms. First, we establish the local existence using the Faedo-Galerkin approximation method under the conditions of positive initial energy and appropriate constraints on the variable exponents p & sdot; and q & sdot;. Finally, we prove a finite-time blow-up result for negative initial energy. Keyword: global existence; wave-equation

Identification of Microbial Populations Present in Agricultural and Nonarable Soils in the Talas Valley, Northern Kyrgyzstan, in Autumn

Tinatin DOOLOTKELDİEVA | Saykal BOBUŞOVA | Mahabat KONURBAYEVA

Soil bacterial and fungal communities were investigated in relation to soil type and farm management practices after vegetation harvesting in autumn. Soils from fields cultivated with Phaseolus vulgaris (bean) and Pyrus comminus (pear) and nonarable, natural areas were studied. Microbial diversity was analysed using cultivation-dependent methods (isolation of pure cultures) and cultivation-independent methods (direct extraction of DNA from soil, followed by PCR amplification of the 16S rRNA and 18S rRNA genes). The use of cultivation-dependent methods revealed that there were no differences in ...More

Existence, Decay, and Blow-up of Solutions for a Weighted m -Biharmonic Equation with Nonlinear Damping and Source Terms

Ercan ÇELİK

In this paper, we consider the weighted m-biharmonic equation with nonlinear damping and source terms. We proved the global existence of solutions. Later, the decay of the energy is established by using Nakao's inequality. Finally, we proved the blow-up of solutions in finite time.

The Serological and Virological Investigation of Canine Adenovirus Infection on the Dogs

Orhan YAPICI

Two types of Canine Adenovirus (CAVs), Canine Adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1), the virus which causes infectious canine hepatitis, and Canine Adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2), which causes canine infectious laryngotracheitis, have been found in dogs. In this study, blood samples taken from 111 dogs, which were admitted to the Internal Medicine Clinic of Selcuk University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with clinical symptoms. Seventy-seven dogs were sampled from Isparta and Burdur dog shelters by random sampling, regardless of the clinical findings. Dogs showed a systemic disease, characterized by fever, ...More

Effects of Aflatoxin on Some Haematological Parameters and Protective Effectiveness of Esterified Glucomannan in Merino Rams

Nurcan DÖNMEZ | Hasan Hüseyin DÖNMEZ | İhsan KISADERE

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the toxic effects of aflatoxin on some hematological parameters and to determine the preventive effectiveness of added glucomannan. In the study, 32 Merino rams were used, and the rams were separated equally to four groups as control (C), glucomannan (G), glucomannan + aflatoxin (AG), and aflatoxin (A). Erythrocyte, leukocyte count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit levels were decreased in A group compared with the other groups, and there was a reduction in similar parameters in AG group compared to control values. On the other hand, these parameter ...More

Effects of Glucomannan on the Sacculus Rotundus and Peripheral Blood Lymphocytes in New Zealand Rabbits during Aflatoxicosis

Hasan Hüseyin DÖNMEZ

This study was aimed to determine the effects of the glucomannan added to aflatoxin- (AF-) contaminated diet on the sacculus rotundus and peripheral blood lymphocytes of New Zealand rabbits by histological and enzyme histochemical methods. Twenty-four adult rabbits of both sexes were divided into four equal groups, namely, as control, glucomannan 0.2 g/day, AF 125 μg/kg/day, and glucomannan combined with AF. The animals in all groups were treated for 12 weeks by the above-mentioned diet. When compared to control, AF-treatment caused significant decrease in alpha-naphthyl acetate esterase- (ANA ...More

Biological Activity of Ag and Cu Monometallic Nanoparticles and Ag-Cu Bimetallic Nanocomposites against Plant Pathogens and Seeds

Tinatin DOOLOTKELDİEVA | Saykal BOBUŞOVA

The antibacterial activities of silver (Ag) and copper (Cu) monometallic and bimetallic nanoparticles (MNPs and BNPs) against the most economically important and common plant bacterial diseases in Kyrgyzstan were tested, as well as their phytotoxic effects on wheat and corn seeds. To achieve this, a range of Ag and Cu MNPs and BNPs were synthesized using different methods and were tested at different concentrations to compare their biological effects. The antibacterial activities of Ag and Cu MNPs and Ag-Cu BNPs against the plant pathogenic bacteria Erwinia amylovora, Pseudomonas syringae, and ...More
