A novel carbohydrate antigen 125 electrochemical sensor based on sweet almond oil organo-hydrogels

Nahit AKTAŞ

Ovarian cancer is a gynecological disease causing many deaths among women around the world. Carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA-125) is a single biomarker known to be a tumor marker of ovarian cancer. CA-125 is widely used to monitor the treatment process, recurrences, and for the detection of ovarian cancer. Herein, organo-hydrogels were prepared in order to detect CA-125 sensitively in serum medium with electrochemical methods. Organo-hydrogels were obtained by the free radical polymerization reaction using agar and glycerol with varying proportions of sweet almond oil using methylene bisacrylamide ...Daha fazlası

Carbon Nanotube Supported CdM(S, Se)/CdTe Anode Catalysts for Electrooxidation of Glucose in Alkaline Media

Hilal DEMİR KIVRAK | Nahit AKTAŞ

The sequential sodium borohydride (SBH, NaBH4) reduction method was utilized to prepare the 0.1 CdSe/CNT, 0.1 CdS/CNT, 0.1 (CdS-CNT)/CdTe, and 0.1 (CdSe-CNT)/CdTe catalysts. The XRD, SEM-EDS, TEM, and XPS analyses were used to characterize the catalysts. The electrochemical measurements were examined by cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry (CA), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analyses for glucose electrooxidation. The characterization analyses revealed that the desired structure was formed on the support material. The electrochemical analysis results indicated that the ...Daha fazlası

Fabrication of molecularly imprinted cotton fibers for quantification of streptomycin in honey samples

Nahit AKTAŞ

Streptomycin is a type of aminoglycoside used in treatment of several infections and with serious side effects in humans and animals, such as ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity. In the present study, we focused on the preparation of streptomycin-imprinted cotton fiber for rapid, sensitive and selective quantification of streptomycin in honey samples. The imprinted cotton fibers were characterized by attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In addition, the imprinted cotton fibers showed high adsorption capacity ...Daha fazlası

Antibiotic residuals removal via novel fabricated hydrogel from 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and sodium methacrylate

Urmat Coldoşbek Uulu | Nahit AKTAŞ

In this study, poly(2-hydroxyethyl-sodium methacrylate) (p(HEMA-SMA)) hydrogels were synthesized as a novel adsorbent to remove antibiotic residues from environmental samples. [p(HEMA-SMA)] co-polymers were synthesized by the free radical photopolymerization method. Synthesized hydrogels were characterized by different methods such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), elemental and scanning electron microscope (SEM), and surface area calculations. The average size surface area of the synthesized hydrogels were 1.515 µm. Penicillin G (Pen. G) was used as the sample antibiotic for ...Daha fazlası

p(thyme oil) and p(clove oil) organo-particles with biocompatible, anticancer, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties against Capan-1 and L-929 cells

Nahit AKTAŞ

The synthesis of p(ClO) and p(TO) organo-particles from clove oil and thyme oil is the first in the literature. The particles were tested against the L-929 cell line for cell viability/cytotoxicity. The anticancer activity was studied against the Capan-1 pancreatic cancer cell line. p(ClO) and p(TO) organo-particles were featured by thermogravimetry (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), particle size (DLS), and particle charge (zeta potential, Zeta) analyses. Antioxidant, biocompatible, antimicrobial, and in vitro cytotoxicity specialties w ...Daha fazlası

Evaluation of particle biosynthesis, p(Okra) particle bioactivity, and drug release properties using Abelmoschus esculentus (okra) plant extract

Nahit AKTAŞ

Interest in synthesizing functional materials from natural compounds has increased recently. For this reason, compound particles attract attention due to their multifunctional properties. Abelmoschus esculentus L. (Okra) is a vegetable species belonging to the Hibiscus family, widely used for its edible unripe fruit. This study synthesized the particle from the Abelmoschus esculentus (Okra) extract (Oe) by emulsion polymerization. In this synthesis, ammonium persulfate (APS, initiator) to form free radicals at the Abelmoschus esculentus (Okra) extract (Oe) and ethylene glycol di methacrylate t ...Daha fazlası

The enhanced TiO2-supported CdTe photocatalysts for photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide electrooxidation

Nahit AKTAŞ

At present, titanium dioxide (TiO2)-supported CdTe photocatalysts were prepared by wet impregnation method for photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) electrooxidation. The structural and morphology surface analyses of these photocatalysts were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) and mapping analysis, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), ultraviolet–visible (UV–VIS) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). In addition, the photocatal ...Daha fazlası

Synthesis of poly(Oak bark) particles from oak bark extract and its utilization as a drug carrier material

Nahit AKTAŞ

As oak bark extract includes pharmaceutically meaningful precious biochemicals such as vanillic acid, quercetin, catechin, caffeic acid, gallic acid, ferulic acid, syringic acid, chlorogenic acid, q-coumaric and protocatechuic acid, the present study focuses on synthesizing polymeric particles from that extract while keeping their targeted natural bioactivity. In this study, due to the bioavailability of oak bark extracts, poly(Oak bark)water extract (p(OB)w), poly(Oak bark)ethanol extract (p(OB)e) and poly(Oak bark)water-ethanol extract (p(OB)we) particles were synthesized using redox polymer ...Daha fazlası
