10XSBF Bone-Like Hydroxyapatite Coating of Ti-6Al-4V with Microwave Irradiation and its Antibacterial Properties

Mustafa DOLAZ

The surfaces of titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) implants, which are widely preferred as implant material in medicine and dentistry, are biomimetically coated with nanohydroxyapatite (nHAp) in simulated body fluid (10XSBF) with microwave-assisted 10-f time concentration solution. A second layer was formed with different amounts of non-toxic AgNO3 to impart antibacterial properties to the implant materials coated with nHAp. In comparison of uncoated implants with nHAp and Ag-coated Ti-6Al-4V implants, surface morphologies were evaluated by SEM analysis, phase grade and structure were evaluated by XRD, and ...Daha fazlası

Mustafa DOLAZ

Two new Schiff bases ligands (HL1 and HL2) and their Co2, Mn2, Fe3, Ru3, Cr3, and VO2 complexes were synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and Mass spect. and analytical methods. A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study determined the molecular structure of HL1. The catalytic effects of metal complexes on benzyl alcohol and potato starch (PS) oxidation were compared in an H-2O-2 medium. The percent conversion of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde and benzoic acid was determined by Gas Chromatography. [Co(L-1)(2)], [Mn(L-1)(2)], [Co(L-2)(2)], and [Mn(L-2)(2)] showed the highest catalytic ...Daha fazlası

Benzotiyofen@Pd as an efficient and stable catalyst for the electrocatalytic oxidation of hydrazine

Hilal DEMİR KIVRAK

An efficient methods for the synthesis of 2-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-3-iodobenzo[b]thiophene (4) is described, and investigated its anode catalyst performance by using electrochemical methods (CV, CA and EIS). When 2-(2,5dimethylphenyl)-3-iodobenzo[b]thiophene (4) is applied, the specific activity is found as 25.811 mA/cm(2). Interestingly, when Palladium (Pd) is electrochemically deposited on the benzothiophene derivative, the catalytic activity increased the 80.930 mA/cm(2). This result is highest than the current metal based anode catalyst. Moreover, EIS and CA measurements display that Pd dope ...Daha fazlası

Transient event classification using pmu data with deep learning techniques and synthetically supported training-set

Özgül SALOR-DURNA

This paper presents a research work which focuses on generating synthetic data to enrich the training-set of a deep learning (DL) based classification system to classify power system transient events using PMU frequency measurements. The synthetically improved training-set is shown to increase the classification performance compared to the case when only the actual-data training-set is used. The proposed classification system helps to reveal high-frequency transient variation information out of PMU measurements collected at a relatively much lower rate, especially when a small set of training- ...Daha fazlası

Curved beam generation and its experimental realization by rectangular prism with asymmetric polynomial back surface

Mirbek TURDUEV

With the discovery of self-accelerating beams, possibility of obtaining curved light beams in free space has been realized. These special beams paved the way for many new applications as well as the exploration of novel beam types. Recently, great research effort has been conducted to realize different types of curved beams such as photonic hook and airy beam. These curved types of beams are obtained by introducing structural asymmetry or applying non-uniform dielectric distribution to the input and output face of the structure. With this regard, we propose specially designed asymmetric struct ...Daha fazlası

A techno-economical assessment of treatment by coagulation-flocculation with aluminum and iron-bases coagulants of landfill leachate membrane concentrates

Mehmet KOBYA

Landfill leachate treatment involved with the membrane bioreactor (MBR) combined with membrane treatment via nanofiltration (NF) and/or reverse osmosis (RO) is widely used in Turkey. This treatment produces landfill leachate membrane concentrates (LLMCs) with an undesirably high concentration of contaminants. In the study, two different nanofiltration concentrates of leachate were coagulated. Coagulant dosages from 0.10 to 5.0 g of Me3/L (Me3: Al3 or Fe3), and the pH values ranged from 4.0 to 8.0 and 3.0-9.0 for Al-based and Fe-based coagulants, respectively. The most efficient pH values were ...Daha fazlası

Effect of somatic cell count on milk composition and some chemical properties of milk

Ali RIŞVANLI

Subclinical mastitis is a very important disease for dairy cattle farms. As a result of the deterioration of milk quality, it causes economic losses in enterprises. Milk samples of 180 cows were divided into five groups according to the somatic cell count. Some chemical properties and composition were measured in milk samples. The ratio of solid-non-fat, mineral matter, lactose, and protein decreased as the somatic cell count of the milk increased (P < 0.05). No statistical difference was observed between the fat content of milk and the level of somatic cell count (P > 0.05). Although specific ...Daha fazlası

ON OPTIMAL CONTROL OF THE INITIAL VELOCITY OF AN EULER-BERNOULLI BEAM SYSTEM

Ercan ÇELİK

In this study, we consider an optimal control problem for an Euler-Bernoulli beam equation. The initial velocity of the system is given by the control function. We give sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique solution of the hyperbolic system and prove that the optimal solution for the considered optimal control problem is exists and unique. After obtaining the Frechet derivative of the cost functional via an adjoint problem, we also give an iteration algorithm for the numerical solution of the problem by using the Gradient method. Finally, we furnish some numerical examples to dem ...Daha fazlası
