This study was conducted to investigate the psychosocial effects of parents' absence on children left behind in the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzstan). A survey was conducted in 2018 with a sample of 457 secondary school children aged 11-18-years-old in the Kyrgyz Republic. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the psychological well-being of children was not significantly influenced when their parents were not divorced but did live separately. However, children with parents who lived abroad and were divorced did show a significant increase in their psychological distress wh ...Daha fazlası
Mathematical and numerical analyses have been performed to examine the close link between Fabry–Pérot resonance and natural-resonance frequencies. For the mathematical analysis, the conditions resulting in minimum magnitudes of reflection coefficients in frequency-domain are derived for air-backed and metal-backed low-loss non-dispersive (or weakly dispersive) dielectric samples with relative complex permittivity εr and thickness L for free-space wave propagation at normal incidence. The close relation between Fabry–Pérot resonance and natural-resonance frequencies is demonstrated for three di ...Daha fazlası
The World Nomad Games (WNG) is a new emerging large-scale event in the world, where ethnic sports can be exhibited. It was started in 2014 and until today WNG has been organized three times (2014, 2016, and 2018) in Kyrgyz Republic. Actually, these kinds of events have economic and noneconomic impacts on the destinations. In this chapter, the WNG role for tourism development in Kyrgyz Republic will be investigated. Kyrgyz Republic as a tourism destination was opened in 1991 after the collapse of the USSR. Today, tourism is identified among the priority sectors in the country. However, our coun ...Daha fazlası
Employment vulnerability is considered as working under inadequate conditions. This research examined the impact of employment vulnerability on earnings with special reference to gender-based differences. Analyses were based on panel data for 2010-2013 and 2016 from the household survey. A panel data fixed-effects model with instrumental variable within the Lewbel (2012) method was applied to estimate an earnings equation. Results indicates negative impact of employment vulnerability on earnings. Women experienced this negative effect more severely. Given these empirical findings, government l ...Daha fazlası
This study presents the initial structural model of L-haloacid dehalogenase (DehLBHS1) from Bacillus megaterium BHS1, an alkalotolerant bacterium known for its ability to degrade halogenated environmental pollutants. The model provides insights into the structural features of DehLBHS1 and expands our understanding of the enzymatic mechanisms involved in the degradation of these hazardous pollutants. Key amino acid residues (Arg40, Phe59, Asn118, Asn176, and Trp178) in DehLBHS1 were identified to play critical roles in catalysis and molecular recognition of haloalkanoic acid, essential for effi ...Daha fazlası
Since the end of communism, Kyrgyzstan, like other Muslim-majority regions of the former Soviet Union, has experienced an ‘Islamic revival’. Among its manifestations has been a rising number of veiled women. Many of them have joined the Tablighi Jamaat (the Society for Spreading Faith) which provides Islamic teaching (taalim) and organises weekly religious sessions (ijtimas). The chapter examines the ways in which the Tablighi Jamaat has been shaping Kyrgyz women's understanding of Islam and what it means to them to be Muslim. It is particularly interested in the implications of the Tablighi J ...Daha fazlası

Coenurosis caused by Coenurus cerebralis poses a significant economic threat to sheep. To date, no effective treatment has been identified for this parasitic infection once it has settled in the brain. This study aimed to investigate the surgical removal of C. cerebralis cysts from the brains of infected sheep. Twenty sheep were utilized in the experiment, and the animals underwent a 24-hour fasting period before the surgical procedure. Various biochemical parameters, including TP, ALP, BUN, AST, CK, LDH, RBC, WBC, Hb, and Hct, were measured in the animals both before and one month after the o ...Daha fazlası
There are mounting concerns over the high concentrations of non-biogenic, toxic halogenated organic compounds being liberated into the ecosystem. Therefore, this study’s isolation of a novel bacterium from a contaminated stream in Fatsa, Ordu, Turkey, adept in degrading 2,2-dichloropropionic (of 2,2-DCP) is a welcome endeavor. The ability of the bacterial isolate to utilize 2,2-DCP as the sole carbon and energy source was discovered when the bacterium was observed to grow well on liquid minimal media containing 20 mM of 2,2-DCP, showing a doubling time of 14.2 h. The following genetic and bioc ...Daha fazlası
Based on self-determination theory as a conceptual framework, the aim of this study is to reveal the relationships amongst cave visitors' experiences, motivation, satisfaction and revisit intention. In order to test the conceptual model designed in line with the objectives of the study, a survey was conducted amongst a sample of 312 visitors to Dupnisa Cave in Turkey. The analysis showed that visitors' motivation and cave experience positively influenced their satisfaction. Moreover, satisfaction has an effect on visitors' revisit intention. This study is one of the first to attempt to reveal ...Daha fazlası
Heavy metals (HMs) are widely used in various industries. High concentrations of HMs can be severely toxic to plants, animals and humans. Microorganism-based bioremediation has shown significant potential in degrading and detoxifying specific HM contaminants. In this study, we cultivated a range of bacterial strains in liquid and solid nutrient medium containing different concentrations of different HMs to select and analyze bacteria capable of transforming HMs. The bacterial strains most resistant to selected HMs and exhibiting the ability to remove HMs from contaminated soils were identified ...Daha fazlası
Soil pollution by pesticides is a global problem in many countries, including Kyrgyzstan. Currently, 50 storage facilities for obsolete banned pesticides exist, severely threatening the surrounding populations and environment. In this study, in situ bioremediation technology was used to remove pesticide contamination from soil around the storage facilities. Three conditions were tested: application of fertile soil and bioproduct, application of fertile soil and no bioproduct (Control 1), and application of fertile soil and no bioproduct (Control 2). An aerobic bioremediation approach was used: ...Daha fazlası
This study evaluates the prospects for continuity and change of People's Republic of China's role in Central Asia in relation with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). There have been significant global, regional, and national events between 2020 and 2022, which might alter China's position in Central Asia. The possibility of change can be estimated by examining the developments so far. China's position in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are taken here as examples for China's role. The One Belt One Road initiative, renamed in 2016 as the BRI, presents multiple trade routes, some of which pass through ...Daha fazlası
