Ancient Turkic Stone Statues at Tuura-Suu, Kyrgyzstan

Fully and partially preserved ancient Turkic stone statues discovered by the Kyrgyz archaeologists at Tuura-Suu, Issyk-Kul Region, Kyrgyzstan, are described with reference to the burial practices of the ancient Turks during the time when the Western Turkic and Tyurgesh states existed in the Tien Shan and Zhetysu. Weaponry, Adornments, and Garment Accessories from the Krasnyi Stroitel Site in the Chuy Valley of Kyrgyzstan

The article analyzes the findings from the destroyed site of Krasnyi Stroitel located on the bank of the Ala-Archa River at the northern outskirts of the city of Bishkek, in the Chuy Valley, Kyrgyzstan. In this area, now taken by a city dump, local school students accidentally found some valuable artifacts, including objects of gold and silver. Composite Bows from Uch-kurbu in Kyrgyzstan

The article addresses the topic of composite bows from nomadic sites in Tien Shan and Zhetysu. Horn plates from bows discovered in 2008–2009 at Uch-Kurbu on the Tosor River, the Issyk-Kul Depression (Kyrgyzstan), are described and analyzed. The original design of the wooden core of the bow and the location of horn plates thereon are reconstructed. Banking in transition economies differs from developing and developed economies with market system. This study aims to review development of the banking system in Kyrgyzstan since independence. The period under consideration is divided into five stages, each of which has a main distinctive aspect. Despite considerable achievements in last fifteen years the banking system still remains vulnerable to external shocks. Moreover, insufficient institutional infrastructure is one of the fundamental factors retarding further development of the banking system.
