The Çanakkale–Kirazlı region (Turkey) is enriched with minerals, especially aluminum (Al), which dangerously get transported into aquatic media due to several mining and geological activities in recent years. In this study, Al and other potentially toxic metals (PTMs) including B, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Si, and Zn, in both water and soil samples, were measured for quality determination. Selected metals were also analyzed by the enrichment factor (EF), the geoaccumulation index (Igeo), the contamination factor (CF), and the pollution load index (PLI) to evaluate both water and soil ...More
In this study, titanium dioxide (TiO2)-supported Cd catalysts were prepared at 0.05-3 of Cd loading by employing the incipient wetness impregnation method. These catalysts were characterized via X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy-energy-dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX), high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy and TEM-EDS mapping, inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry ( ICP-MS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), temperature-programmed oxidation (TPO), and temperature-programmed desorption (TPD). XR ...More
Quantum dots (QDs) have attracted much attention as one of the most promising candidates for next-generation display materials. However, stability is still a big challenge for QDs. Herein, we encapsulated QDs in a thermoplastic polypropylene (PP) matrix by thermal processing technology to prepare a stabler color conversion film for the first time. Thermal processing technology expands the packaging materials of QDs from traditional soluble polymers to thermoplastic polymers such as PP with easy processing and a low cost. We showed that the QDs in the PP film exhibited longerlasting stability t ...More
