Antibacterial effectiveness of combined sodium hypochlorite and diode laser therapy with different parameters against S. Aureus biofilm

Mitat ŞAHİN

Aim: In this study, we aimed to assess the antibacterial efficacy of both single and combined sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and diode laser on Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) biofilm. Material and Methods: Eighty-four premolars were randomly assigned to groups. The Experimental groups were as follows: group 1; 5.25 NaOCl; groups 2-4; diode laser (0,7; 1,5; 2,5 W); Groups 5-7; combined laser and NaOCl. Statistical evaluations were made by Kruskal -Wallis and Mann- Whitney U tests. Results: The 2.5 W diode laser showed a high potential for elimination of S.aureus, similar to NaOCl (p>0.05). 0,7 ...More

Exploring the impact of university support on students' entrepreneurial intentions: evidence from Kyrgyzstan

Azamat MAKSUDUNOV

Whether university support is meaningful in increasing students' entrepreneurial intentions (EI) remains largely under-investigated, especially in the context of Central Asian countries. In this study, we attempted to address this question by examining the effects of university support (comprised of educational support, concept development support, and business development support) on students' EI. We employed a structured questionnaire to collect data from 793 student respondents enrolled in 13 universities in Kyrgyzstan and performed descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. Our anal ...More

An Essay of Sociological Criticism on the First Stories of Chingiz Aitmatov = Cengiz Aytmatov’un İlk Hikâyelerine Sosyolojik Eleştiri Açısından Bir Bakış

Sovyet edebiyatındaki olumlu tip kavramını formüle eden M. G ...More

The review of the monograph: “The living space and the spiritual world of man through the prism of the languages of Siberia,” = Рецензия на книгу: Жизненное пространство и духовный мир человека через призму языков Сибири

Zamira DERBİŞEVA

The monograph under review explores the universal concepts of LIFE, DEATH, SOUL, and MOTHERLAND in the languages of the indigenous peoples of Siberia. These languages originate from three distinct language families: Turkic, Tungusic-Manchurian, and Finno-Ugric. The authors provide a comprehensive analysis of these axiologically significant concepts, revealing the similarities and differences in perception and their linguistic interpretation. The work consistently follows the methodology based on the principles of linguocognitive and linguocultural analysis along with comparative-historical ver ...More

Web 2.0 in higher education: Difference in usage and perception between Kazakh and Kyrgyz students

Çinara CUMABAYEVA | Rita İSMAİLOVA

The use of Web 2.0 technologies such as social media and user-generated content and their educational prospective attract the attention of many researchers. The results of the vast majority of these studies suggest that the use of social networks in the educational process can be helpful in increasing the quality of education and making it accessible to more students. In order to clarify the students’ opinions, a survey was conducted among students from various majors at leading universities in two Central Asian countries, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The main objective of the study was to deter ...More

The Poetic Cosmology of C. Aitmatov and the Ontological Fourfold (Das Gewiert) of Heidegger

Camgırbek BÖKÖŞOV | Abdiraşit BABATAYEV

Trying to make a comparison between C. Aitmatov and M. Heidegger at first look could be seem strange. But such a comparison is actually important in one hand not only for understanding the philosophical foundations of artistic outlook of Aitmatov and in another hand to demonstrate the existential -phenomenological rootedness of ontological ideas of Heidegger. For although there isn't any knowledge if they were ever meet in real life, yet it is obvious that they were close friends in the dimension of thinking, understanding of Genesis, they search and experience the spiritual dimension of that ...More

An approximate solution of singularly perturbed problem on uniform mesh

Ercan ÇELİK

In this study, we obtain approximate solution for singularly perturbed problem of differential equation having two integral boundary conditions. With this purpose, we propose a new finite difference scheme. First, we construct this exponentially difference scheme on a uniform mesh using the finite difference method. We use the quasilinearization method and the interpolating quadrature formulas to establish the numerical scheme. Then, as a result of the error analysis, we show that the method under study is convergent in the first order. Consequently, theoretical findings are supported by numer ...More

On the upper bounds of Hankel determinants for some subclasses of univalent functions associated with sine functions

Muhammet KAMALİ | Alina RISKULOVA

Let a normalized analytic function be given on the open unit disk. In this paper, we define and consider some familiar subsets of analytic functions associated with sine functions in the region of unit disk on the complex plane. For these classes, we aim to find the upper bounds of the modules of the Hankel determinants obtained from the coefficients of the functions belonging to some classes defined by subordination. Keyword: analytic functions; coefficient estimates; convex function; hankel determinant; sine function; starlike functions; subordination

Numerical study on effect of process parameters on material extrusion 3D printing (ME3DP) for porous bone tissue engineering scaffolds

Refik POLAT

Bone tissue engineering (BTE) holds promise for treating bone defects, and 3D-printed porous scaffolds are pivotal for tissue regeneration. This study explores the impact of material extrusion 3D printing (ME3DP) process parameters (i.e., layer height and extrusion temperature) on 3D-printed porous scaffolds made of polyetherimide (PEI) material for BTE. The intricate relationships shaping scaffold dimensional accuracy, residual stresses, and warpage tendencies were unveiled using comprehensive numerical simulations. Our findings reveal that higher layer heights enhance dimensional stability, ...More

THE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGICAL STRESS ON ACADEMICS' LIFE SATISFACTION

Erkan EFİLTİ | Recai DOĞAN | Argen CUMGALBEKOV

Increasing research reveals the impact of technostress on life satisfaction among academics. In line with the determined purpose, it is first determined whether there is a significant difference in terms of technostress and life satisfaction between demographic variables such as age, gender, field of science and years of experience. Secondly, an answer was sought to the question of whether there was a significant impact of technostress on life satisfaction. To achieve the determined research purpose, the relational scanning model was used. The study involved 342 academic participants working a ...More

Investigating the factors affecting the PISA-based test performance of Asian students

Zamira ÖSKÖNBAYEVA

Purpose - This study investigates the factors affecting the learning outcomes of Asian students. Methods - The effects of both educational inputs and economic and socioeconomic variables on the PISA scores of 10 Asian countries (Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Macau, Korea, Turkey, Israel, Qatar, and Thailand) for the years 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2015 were examined using unbalanced panel data. Findings - The results show that country -level economic factors strongly affect academic achievement. Furthermore, country -level economic factors dominate the other explanatory factors in the num ...More
