Characterization of cereal cyst nematodes in wheat using morphometrics, SCAR markers, RFLP, and rDNA-ITS sequence analyses

Şenol YILDIZ

In this study, morphological and molecular characterizations of twenty-four Heterodera populations (cereal cyst nematodes, CCNs) collected from wheat production fields in Turkey were carried out. Light microscopy, species-specific markers, RFLP, and ITS sequencing were used to identify the nematode populations. The obtained CCN populations were identified as Heterodera avenae, H. filipjevi, and H. latipons according to the morphometric analysis, which was confirmed by the molecular techniques. The ITS region sequencing analysis confirmed the species identification, and phylogenetic analysis of ...More

Using the Cramer-Gauss Method to Solve Systems of Linear Algebraic Equations with Tridiagonal and Five-Diagonal Coefficient Matrices

Anarkül URDALETOVA

It is known that among the methods used in solving systems of linear algebraic equations, the Cramer method has a number of disadvantages compared to the Gauss method, in particular: the inability to write out solutions to a system that has many solutions; the cumbersomeness of calculations with large system size. However, when applied to systems with a square matrix, it is, in a sense, more convenient than the Gauss method. The authors of this work developed and proposed a method in which they tried to combine the advantages of the Cramer and Gauss methods. In this paper, the Cramer-Gauss met ...More

No Evidence of an Elevation Effect Caused by Temperature Differences on Soil Microbial Properties in a Walnut Fruit Forest in Kyrgyzstan

Cıldız ÖSKÖNBAEVA

This study is to investigate the effect of differences in annual average temperature on soil microbial communities as caused by elevation in walnut-fruit forests in Kyrgyzstan with similar vegetation. Soil samples (n 10 per site) were collected from top- and subsoil at three elevation levels (1000, 1300 and 1600 m above sea level) with an average temperature difference of 1.3 °C between sites and analysed for soil chemical and biological properties. All soil properties showed high variability within, but most revealed no differences between elevation levels. Microbial biomass, activity and com ...More

An app for apples: Citizen-led mapping of fire blight in Central Asia

Saykal BOBUŞOVA | Tinatin DOOLOTKELDİEVA

Fire blight, caused by the bacterial pathogen Erwinia amylovora, is a severe bacterial disease of apple and pear that can quickly destroy whole plants. In the last decade, it was also detected in Central Asia, where wild pomaceous fruit plants represent the dominant species in mid-altitude forests and constitute a critical foundation for the entire ecosystem. Efficiently informing farmers, forestry services and private persons about the instances and dangers of fire blight, the correct way to recognize the symptoms, and the methods of disease control is thus of paramount importance in a vast a ...More

Solitary wave solutions to some nonlinear conformable partial differential equations

Ercan ÇELİK

Fractional calculus is a field that is currently used in the world’s applications in many science and engineering fields where many models are still being developed and researched. The conformable time-fractional gives the full history of this function, which is the advantage of using fractional calculus to solve physical problems. In this study, the conformable time-fractional extended (2  1)-dimensional quantum Zakharov-Kuznetsov and the time-fractional modified Korteweg-de Vries equations are investigated by using the the modified exp (−Ω(ξ))-expansion function approach. Some new prototype ...More

Concentration Distribution of Molecules and Other Species in the Model System Fe-NaCl-Na2S-H2SO4-H2O at Various Temperatures of the Electrocoagulation Process

Zarlık MAYMEKOV | Canarbek İZAKOV | Nurzat ŞAYKİYEVA | Mustafa DOLAZ | Mehmet KOBYA

Under practical conditions, one of the possible solutions to the problem of treatment of hydrogen-sulfide-containing industrial wastewater is the electrochemical oxidation of sulfides. In this work, the model system Fe-NaCl-Na2S-H2SO4-H2O is considered, an experimental setup is constructed, and the electrocoagulation process is studied in a wide (288-308 K) range of temperatures of an aqueous solution of hydrogen sulfide. The optimal ratios between the initial components in the system are determined. The experimental and calculated pH of the solution are found. The system is thermodynamically ...More

Conjugate connections and their applications on pure metallic metric geometries

Olgun DURMAZ

Let (M, J, g) be a metallic pseudo-Riemannian manifold equipped with a metallic structure J and a pseudo-Riemannian metric g. The paper deals with interactions of Codazzi couplings formed by conjugate connections and tensor structures. The presence of Tachibana operator and Codazzi couplings presents a new characterization for locally metallic pseudo-Riemannian manifold. Also, a necessary and sufficient condition under which a non-integrable metallic pseudo-Riemannian manifold is a quasi metallic pseudo-Riemannian manifold is derived. Finally, it is introduced metallic-like pseudo-Riemannian m ...More

Best approximation-preserving operators over Hardy space

Fahreddin ABDULLAYEV

Let Tn be the linear Hadamard convolution operator acting over Hardy space Hq, 1≤q≤∞. We call Tn a best approximation-preserving operator (BAP operator) if Tn(en)=en, where en(z):=zn, and if ∥Tn(f)∥q≤En(f)q for all f∈Hq, where En(f)q is the best approximation by algebraic polynomials of degree a most n−1 in Hq space. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for Tn to be a BAP operator over H∞. We apply this result to establish an exact lower bound for the best approximation of bounded holomorphic functions. In particular, we show that the Landau-type inequality ∣∣fˆn∣∣+c∣∣fˆN∣∣≤En(f)∞, wher ...More
