Activated carbon obtained from the cotton processing wastes

Activated carbon (AC) was obtained from the cotton (Gossypium malvaceae) processing waste materials. The process was carried out by carbonization at 500–800 °C and subsequent activation at 800 °C by water stream. In this study, mineral nutrient and heavy metal (Al, Ca, Cd, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, Pb, and Zn) contents of the walnut kernels and their co-located soil samples collected from the four different zones of natural walnut forests (Sary-Chelek, Arslanbap, and Kara-Alma in Jalal-Abad Region and Kara-Shoro in Osh Region) in Kyrgyzstan were investigated. The method is based on the use of the gold nanoparticles-polyaniline (AuNPs-PA) modified pencil graphite electrode (PGE). Urea Uptake and Release by Novel Macrogels from Dimethylacrylamide

A novel macrogels poly(N,N-Dimethylacrylamide) (p(DMAAm)) and its derivatives were synthesized from DMAAm for use in urea uptake and release. p(DMAAm) surface was modified by NaOH and HCl to obtain p(DMAAm)/NaOH and p(DMAAm)/HCl, which are negatively and positively charged, respectively. The dynamic swelling behaviors, water retention and pH sensitivities of the macrogels were studied.
