This study aimed to investigate Kyrgyz learners' engagement in online courses. In this respect, the Student Engagement Scale and appropriate open-ended questions were employed in order to obtain data from learners. The sample covers 400 undergraduate learners studying at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. The study has a mixed research design, hence both quantitative and qualitative approaches were employed. The results of the study revealed that behavioral engagement has a significant effect on learner achievement. The study also demonstrated that the engagement of Kyrgyz learners in online cou ...More
Entropy, which is an element of the system approach evaluating organizations as a system, refers to the deterioration tendency. Purpose. This study aimed to develop a new scale in order to evaluate the negative climate in organizations. Method. The study was carried out in two stages. In the first study, the construct validity of the scale (N 412) was revealed by exploratory factor analysis and, also convergent and discriminant analysis in the banking sector. The second study was carried out in the teacher sample (N 224) and analysed for confirmatory factor analysis and predictive validity of ...More
As social media has become an intensive part of human lives, the concept of privacy has become an actual question again. Due to security measures, it has become the norm to be monitored by surveillance cameras at many moments of life or to collect private information in data stores. Such normalization has facilitated the adaptation of the network society to the transparent, visible, public lifestyle offered by social media, and despite the violation of privacy, posting a status is implemented. The influence of every new technological device on human life is a reality that has been observed thr ...More
Whether university support is meaningful in increasing students' entrepreneurial intentions (EI) remains largely under-investigated, especially in the context of Central Asian countries. In this study, we attempted to address this question by examining the effects of university support (comprised of educational support, concept development support, and business development support) on students' EI. We employed a structured questionnaire to collect data from 793 student respondents enrolled in 13 universities in Kyrgyzstan and performed descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. Our anal ...More
Bone tissue engineering (BTE) holds promise for treating bone defects, and 3D-printed porous scaffolds are pivotal for tissue regeneration. This study explores the impact of material extrusion 3D printing (ME3DP) process parameters (i.e., layer height and extrusion temperature) on 3D-printed porous scaffolds made of polyetherimide (PEI) material for BTE. The intricate relationships shaping scaffold dimensional accuracy, residual stresses, and warpage tendencies were unveiled using comprehensive numerical simulations. Our findings reveal that higher layer heights enhance dimensional stability, ...More
Purpose The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the supply chains, and this brought researchers and practitioners to think about more on circular supply chains (CSC). The CSC concept has been discussed in the literature more than a decade. This study aims to find out the theoretical roots of CSC by analyzing scholarly articles in literature. Design/methodology/approach This paper uses document cocitation analysis for reaching this aim. After retrieving data from Web of Science database, this paper explores data set by considering used references of these publications and clusters them based on the ...More
Purpose The authors posit that one of the key enablers of the circular economy will be the digital transformation - in other words, digitalization. In this study, the authors examine and visualize the interaction of the circular economy and digitalization by using scientific publications. They explore possible synergies and future research avenues at this junction. Design/methodology/approach The authors first apply bibliometrics to explore and visualize the relationships between the circular economy and digitalization in the academic literature. Following the clustering of topics, they define ...More
In the 1990s, China left passive pragmatism and started actively engaging in and initiating its relations with other countries. Today, China is continuing to expand as a global power as its investments in infrastructure and oil exploration from Central Asia to the Middle East are growing. Turkey, in this case, is a crucial partner for China both because of its projects such as the Belt and Road Initiative, and also because of the region it is located. However, bilateral relations are suffering from the lack of similar foreign policy approaches, which would allow them to cooperate effectively. ...More

This study analyzes the research topics and theoretical foundations that have guided the field of business ethics for the last two decades and, based on the analyses, addresses research topics that have the potential to contribute to the field of business ethics in the future. The research uses the bibliometric research technique of co-word analysis as well as the qualitative research method of qualitative content analysis. The research findings indicate developments to have occurred both in research trends and the theoretical foundations of the field from the 20002010 period to the 2011-2020 ...More
The World Nomad Games (WNG) is a new form of large-scale events in the world. Thus, little empirical research is focused on understanding perceived impacts of the WNG and behavioural tendencies of the host community. The research aims to reveal the perceptions of the local people regarding the possible impacts from hosting the World Nomad Games in two different localities of the Kyrgyz Republic. The impacts of the WNG were measured using a survey conducted among local residents based on face-to-face interviews. The study examines data collected from two localities in the Kyrgyz Republic: 384 s ...More
