Exploring of the ameliorative effects of Nerium (Nerium oleander L.) ethanolic flower extract in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats via biochemical, histological and molecular aspects

Ali ASLAN

Background: Nerium oleander L. is ethnopharmacologically used for diabetes. Our aim was to investigate the ameliorative effects of ethanolic Nerium flower extract (NFE) in STZ-induced diabetic rats. Methods: Seven random groups including control group, NFE group (50 mg/kg), diabetic group, glibenclamide group and NFE treated groups (25 mg/kg, 75 mg/kg, and 225 mg/kg) were composed of forty-nine rats. Blood glucose level, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), insulin level, liver damage parameters and lipid profile parameters were investigated. Antioxidant defense system enzyme activities and reduced gl ...More

The Consecutive Substitution Method for Boundary Value Problems (BVPs) with Retarded Argument

Ercan ÇELİK

In this study, we applied an approximate solution method for solving the boundary value problems (BVPs) with retarded argument. The method is the consecutive substitution method. The consecutive substitution method was applied and an approximate solution was obtained. The numerical solution and the analytical solution are compared in the table. The solutions were found to be compatible. Keywords: approximate solution; boundary-value problem; numerical solution; retarded argument; solution methods; substitution method; boundary value problems

The power of retrotransposons in high-throughput genotyping and sequencing

Yılmaz KAYA

The use of molecular markers has become an essential part of molecular genetics through their application in numerous fields, which includes identification of genes associated with targeted traits, operation of backcrossing programs, modern plant breeding, genetic characterization, and marker-assisted selection. Transposable elements are a core component of all eukaryotic genomes, making them suitable as molecular markers. Most of the large plant genomes consist primarily of transposable elements; variations in their abundance contribute to most of the variation in genome size. Retrotransposon ...More

Novel analytical and approximate-analytical methods for solving the nonlinear fractional smoking mathematical model

Ercan ÇELİK

Smoking is globally a challenging issue that causes many fatal health problems. In this paper, a nonlinear fractional smoking mathematical model is proposed in the context of a modi-fied form of the Caputo fractional-order derivative. The analytical and approximate-analytical solutions are obtained for the proposed mathematical model via the fractional differential transform method (FDTM) and Laplace Adomian decomposition method (LADM). The ob-tained solution is provided as a rapidly convergent series. Simulation results are provided in this paper to compare the obtained solutions by FDTM, LAD ...More

Invariant Solutions and Conservation Laws of the Time-Fractional Telegraph Equation

Ercan ÇELİK

In this study, the Lie symmetry analysis is given for the time-fractional telegraph equation with the Riemann-Liouville derivative. This equation is useable to describe the physical processes of models possessing memory. By applying classical and nonclassical Lie symmetry analysis for the telegraph equation with & alpha;,& beta; time-fractional derivatives and some technical computations, new infinitesimal generators are obtained. The actual methods give some classical symmetries while the nonclassical approach will bring back other symmetries to these equations. The similarity reduction and c ...More

On the Solvability of a Boundary Value Problem for Nonlinear Optimization of Oscillatory Processes

Elmira ABDILDAYEVA

The paper investigates the solvability of a boundary value problem in the control of an oscillatory process described by control in partial derivatives of the first order. It has been established that there are an infinite set of controls, as solutions to the system of nonlinear Fredholm integral equations of the first kind, each of which transfers the controlled process from the initial state to the final specified state in a specified time. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a nonlinear optimization solution are found.

Singularly Perturbed Parabolic Problems with Multidimensional Boundary Layers

Asan ÖMÜRALİEV | Meerim İmaş Kızı

The first boundary value problem for a multidimensional parabolic differential equation with a small parameter ε multiplying all derivatives is studied. A complete (i.e., of any order with respect to the parameter) regularized asymptotics of the solution is constructed, which contains a multidimensional boundary layer function that is bounded for x = (x 1, x 2) = 0 and tends to zero as ε → +0 for x ≠ 0. In addition, it contains corner boundary layer functions described by the product of a boundary layer function of the exponential type by a multidimensional parabolic boundary layer function

Screening of damage induced by lead (Pb) in rye (Secale cereale L.) – a genetic and physiological approach

İlhan DOĞAN

The fields in which lead (Pb) finds application in the modern world have increased dramatically in recent years. As a consequence of this intensive utilization of Pb, its toxicity tends to pose more and more environmental problems. The aim of this study was to evaluate the genotoxic potential of Pb and to characterize some physiological parameters in Secale cereale under Pb stress. Plants were subjected to different exposure levels of Pb (0, 100, 200 and 400 µmol/L) for two weeks. At the end of the experimental period, the effects of Pb exposure on the photosynthetic pigments content (chloroph ...More

Outbreak of sheeppox in farmed sheep in Kyrgystan: Histological, eletron microscopical and molecular characterization

Nurbek ALDAYAROV | Zarima CUMAKANOVA | Askarbek TÜLÖBAEV

On a farm in the Kyrgyz Republic, several dead sheep were found without any history of illness. The sheep showed several ulcerations on lips and bare-skinned areas. At necropsy the lungs showed multiple firm nodules, which were defined as pox nodules histologically. In the rumen hyperkeratotic plaques were visible. With electron microscopy pox viral particles were detected and confirmed with qPCR as Capripoxviruses. Although all members of the Capripoxvirus genus are eradicated in western countries, this study should remind us of the classical lesions observed in poxvirus infections. Keywords: ...More

Approximate Solution of Volterra-Stieltjes Linear Integral Equations of the Second Kind with the Generalized Trapezoid Rule

Avıt ASANOV | Elman HAZAR | Kalıskan MATANOVA

The numerical solution of linear Volterra-Stieltjes integral equations of the second kind by using the generalized trapezoid rule is established and investigated. Also, the conditions on estimation of the error are determined and proved. A selected example is solved employing the proposed method.

An influence of Peptide Factors of Prostate Adenoma in Men on Morphological and Functional Condition of Prostate Gland of Experimental Rabbits

Gülbübü KURMANBEKOVA | Salkın BEYŞENALİYEVA | Nurcamal ÖMÜRZAKOVA | Kadırbay ÇEKİROV

In experimental conditions, an influence of intramuscular introducing of peptides, isolated from man prostate adenoma, was studied on 25 male rabbits. It was shown, that intramuscular introducing Fraction 1 to animals, to their tissue of prostate glands, during 15 days forms an intensive excrescence of connective tissue. In rabbits, which received Fraction 2, proliferation of glands’ epithelium is formed. Maximal intensity of excrescent glandular tissue of prostate gland is observed on 10 day after finishing of 15-days introducing. – Key words: prostate gland peptides, male rabbits, prostate ...More
