Background: Nerium oleander L. is ethnopharmacologically used for diabetes. Our aim was to investigate the ameliorative effects of ethanolic Nerium flower extract (NFE) in STZ-induced diabetic rats. Methods: Seven random groups including control group, NFE group (50 mg/kg), diabetic group, glibenclamide group and NFE treated groups (25 mg/kg, 75 mg/kg, and 225 mg/kg) were composed of forty-nine rats. Blood glucose level, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), insulin level, liver damage parameters and lipid profile parameters were investigated. Antioxidant defense system enzyme activities and reduced gl ...More
Interest in synthesizing functional materials from natural compounds has increased recently. For this reason, compound particles attract attention due to their multifunctional properties. Abelmoschus esculentus L. (Okra) is a vegetable species belonging to the Hibiscus family, widely used for its edible unripe fruit. This study synthesized the particle from the Abelmoschus esculentus (Okra) extract (Oe) by emulsion polymerization. In this synthesis, ammonium persulfate (APS, initiator) to form free radicals at the Abelmoschus esculentus (Okra) extract (Oe) and ethylene glycol di methacrylate t ...More
In this paper we examine how the financial performance of telecommunications firms is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and investigate the role of capital expenditures in this relationship. The full sample consists of 383 unique telecommunications firms from 72 countries. Empirical models are estimated using ordinary least squares regression with the Driscoll–Kraay standard errors method. We find that the financial performance of telecommunications firms, on average, decreased slightly during the pandemic period. However, firms with higher capital expenditures have increased their financial ...More
The present study draws attention to arsenic (V) (As(V)), chromium (III) (Cr(III)), and chromium (VI) (Cr(VI)) heavy metal pollutants, which have negative effects on aquatic ecosystems and indirectly pose a serious threat to the health of living things in the environment. Homopolymer and copolymer hydrogels were synthesized by the UV polymerization technique using 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propansulfonic acid sodium salt (AMPS) and 3-acrlylamidopropil-trimethyl ammonium chloride monomers, and a crosslinker aimed to improve the swelling properties and metal sorption of the prepared hydrogels. The ...More
The first boundary value problem for a multidimensional parabolic differential equation with a small parameter ε multiplying all derivatives is studied. A complete (i.e., of any order with respect to the parameter) regularized asymptotics of the solution is constructed, which contains a multidimensional boundary layer function that is bounded for x = (x 1, x 2) = 0 and tends to zero as ε → +0 for x ≠ 0. In addition, it contains corner boundary layer functions described by the product of a boundary layer function of the exponential type by a multidimensional parabolic boundary layer function
Graphene oxide (GO) was covalently attached to glassy carbon (GC) electrode (GC–O–GO) for fabricating nanosensors to determine trace Pb2+ and Cd2+ using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). Surface characterization of the nanofilm-covered electrode was performed via electrochemical cyclic voltammetry (CV), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. Surface pKa of the GO covalent attached GC (GC–O–GO) was calculated via CV. Under optimal conditions, a linear response was found for Pb2+ and Cd2 ...More
Highly sensitive 3,8-diaminobenzo[c]cinnoline (3,8-DABCC) modified graphene oxide (GO) electrode was prepared, and it was denoted as pGO-DABCC. The electrode material was characterized with infrared spectroscopy (IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). pGO-DABCC on glassy carbon (GC/pGO-DABCC) electrode was investigated for simultaneous determination of Cd2+ and Pb2+ in aqueous media by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). Optimum conditions of the electrode were determined with some parameters ...More
The gradual Cl replacement reactions of NN (1–3) or NO spirocyclic monoferrocenyl cyclotriphosphazenes (4 and 5) with the potassium salt of 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (potassium vanillinate) resulted in the mono (1a–5a), geminal (gem-1b–5b), non-geminal (cis-5b and trans -1b–4b), tri (1c, 3c–5c) and tetra-vanillinato-substituted phosphazenes (1d–5d). All the phosphazene derivatives have stereogenic P-center(s), except tetra-substituted ones. The vanillinatophosphazenes have reversible voltammograms with one-electron anodic and cathodic peaks which are attributed to ferrocenyl redox probe. ...More
Metal levels (cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, nickel, lead and zinc) of seventeen different edible wild fungi species (Agaricus campestris, Calocybe gambosa, Coprinus comatus, Hericium coralloides, Hydnum repandum, H. repandum var. rufescens, Lactarius deliciosus, L. salminocolor, Macrolepiota procera, Pleurotus ostreatus, P. ostreatus var. columbinus, Ramaria aurea, R. stricta, Rhizopogon luteolus, Sparassis crispa, Suillus bovinus, Tricholoma terreum) growing in Bolu-Turkey were measured by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrocopy. The obtained data were analyzed with ...More
The chapter discusses the food quality and safety control system in the Kyrgyz Republic. Specifically, the chapter introduces current socio-economic situation, characterization of the domestic food market, and elements of the national food control system upon adopting a series of new regulations since 2004. The new food safety system is progressively setting up, but there are a number of problems that holds back the implementation of new approaches to the assurance of food safety. These problems are mainly related to the underdeveloped national economy and poor socio-economic status of the pop ...More
The modification of N-phenyl-aza-15-crown-5 (PA15C5) and N-(4-aminophenyl)-aza-15-crown-5 (4APA15C5) on glassy carbon (GC) electrode was performed by the electrochemical oxidation of the corresponding azacrown derivatives in anhydrous acetonitrile media. The electrochemical behavior of the resulting modified GC electrode was investigated in the presence of electroactive redox probes and these results, together with the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy were used to confirm the attachment of these molecules onto the GC surface. The ellipsomet ...More
A new calix[4]pyrrole functionalized vic-dioxime, 3-(4-methyl-9,9,14,14,19,19-hexaethylcalix[4]pyrrole)benzoaminoglyoxime (LH2) was synthesized from anti-chloroglyoxime and 3-aminophenyl-calix[4]pyrrole at room temperature. The mononuclear complexes {nickel(II), copper(II) and cobalt(II)} of this vic-dioxime ligand were prepared and their structures were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and UV–Vis spectrophotometry, magnetic susceptibility; the MS, 1H and 13C NMR spectra of the LH2 ligand and its Ni(II) complex were also recorded. The experimental results indicated that the ligand:metal rat ...More
