AMINO ACID COMPOSITION AND SOME PHYSICOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF MULTI-FLORAL HONEY FROM MOUNTAINOUS REGIONS OF KYRGYZSTAN = Kırgızistan'ın Dağlık Bölgelerinden Elde Edilen Polifloralı (Çok Çiçekli) Balın Amino Asit Bileşimi ve Bazı Fizikokimyasal Parametreleri

Ayçürök MACİTOVA

Mountain animal food products are at the center of attention due to their intrinsic value and, as such, mountain beekeeping products deserve attention and effort for their valorisation. The work aimed at investigating the quality traits of mountain honey samples from Kyrgyzstan, giving particular emphasis on the amino acid profiles and their possible relationship with the other chemical-physical characteristics. The moisture content, acidity, pH, and diastase activity of honey samples were within the limits established by normative documents. The honey samples showed a higher diastase activity ...More

Effects of some plant extracts on root-knot nematodes in vitro and in vivo conditions

İlker KEPENEKÇİ

One of the major pests of the vegetables, root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) (Tylenchina: Meloidogynidae) (RKNs) can cause economic losses by forming knots on the host plant roots. RKNs are more prevalent in the greenhouse vegetable growing areas of the coastal regions. In this study, the effects of plant extracts from five different plants; Capsicum frutescens, Hyoscyamus niger (Solanaceae), Melia azedarach (Meliaceae), Xanthium strumarium and Achillea wilhelmsii (Asteraceae) were evaluated against RKNs. In the first studies; the effects of plant extracts (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 3.0, 6.0 and 12.0 ...More

Microbiological quality of water buffalo yoghurts retailed in Kayseri = Kayseri İlinde Satışa Sunulan Manda Yoğurtlarının Mikrobiyolojik Kalitesi

Toplanan örnekler Koliform grubu bakteriler, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp., maya-küf, toplam aerobik mezofilik bakteri (TAMB) ve laktik asit bakterileri (LAB) yönünden incelendi. İncelenen 100 adet yoğurt numunesinin 18'inde (%18) ortalama 14,8±0,24 EMS/g koliform bakteri, 9'unda (%9) 1,85±0,18 EMS/g E. coli ve 7'sinde (%7) 4,9± ...More

Some Morphological Characteristics of Gene Pool from the Hybridization of Local Tomato Genotypes and Some Commercial Types

Mustafa PAKSOY | Önder TÜRKMEN

Determination of different gene sources is important for plant breeding studies; therefore, local genotypes are of interest. In this study, collected genotypes were hybridizied with commercial genotypes in order to transfer some traits such as disease resistance and long shelf life to local genotypes. After that, obtained genotypes were self pollinated twice and gene pool was created according to some morphological traits. Nine different groups were created from combinations according to result of clustering analysis. Result of principal component analysis (PCA) revealed that total rate of 65. ...More
