There are many factors, which negatively affect plant development. One of these factors is lead (Pb), which causes toxic effects on plants during the seedling period. Mycorrhizas (AMF) contribute positively to plant growth. In eggplant seedlings, it has been researched whether to tolerate the negative effects of lead with mycorrhizas. In the study, Gigaspora margarita (Gm) and Glomus intraradices (Gi) mycorrhizal races were applied before seeds were sown. After the first true leaves appeared, 5 different doses of Pb (0, 100, 200, 400 and 800 ppm) were given. As a result, the earliest true leaf ...More
Spring oilseed rape is one of the major oilseed crops produced in different regions of Iran's tropical climates. Because of the various climatic and geographical conditions of the tropical areas of Iran, it is necessary to release high-yielding cultivars with broad adaptability to the various tropical regions. The main objective of this study was to identify high-yielding and stable spring oilseed rape genotypes among some new oilseed rape genotypes via analysis of genotype by environment interaction using the GGE biplot model. To this end, multi environmental trials (METs) were conducted acro ...More
This study introduces a new evolutionary approach called Binary Genetic Programming (BGP) to design and assess public transportation systems from a sustainable development perspective. The BGP combines evolutionary system identi cation techniques with k-fold cross-validation to obtain an accurate model between the land use and transportation parameters from a sustainable urban development point of view. To assess the new model, two public transportation systems including the new tram line of Antalya (Turkey) and the bus rapid transit line of Bhopal (India) were considered. The model was employ ...More
This study investigated the production, characterization, mechanical and tribo-logical performance of surface-modified cow bone powder-reinforced composites. The primary goal was to increase the tribological and mechanical performance of sustainable and cleanly produced composite materials. It was determined that the surface-modified bone powder reinforcement increased the mechanical, thermal, and wear resistance of the polymer. The best surface modification method was determined as silanization. It reduced the friction coefficient and weight loss by 16.60 and 40.0, respectively, according to ...More
The research focused on analyzing qualitative and quantitative morpho-physiological characteristics of local sweet cherry cultivars and genotypes. Quantitative and qualitative characteristics (fruit weight, fruit length, fruit width, fruit shape, fruit pistil end, fruit suture, fruit skin colour, fruit flesh colour, length of fruit stalk, thickness of fruit stalk, weight of fruit stalk, colour of fruit juice, fruit juiciness, eating quality, fruit sweetness, stone weight, stone shape, TA, pH, L, a, b, H, croma, cracking index, sensitivity class) with UPOV descriptors were used in the evaluatio ...More
Plant genetic resources constitute the most valuable assets of countries. It is of great importance to determine the genetic variation among these resources and to use the data in breeding studies. Cucurbita maxima species in the Cucurbitaceae family have high genetic diversity, but molecular genetic diversity studies of this species are insufficient in Turkey. To determine the genetic diversity among genotypes of Cucurbita maxima species of squash, which is widely grown in Erzincan, 14 different squash genotypes collected were examined based on the morphological parameters and molecular chara ...More
This research was conducted to determine vegetation structures of the upland rangelands in the five villages of Tufanbeyli district, Adana, in 2010. Vegetations of the rangelands were studied by the loop method. In the study, plant cover percentages, botanical compositions based on the cover percentage in the plant covered area, range quality values and range conditions of the rangelands studied were determined. Average percentages of grasses, legumes and other family plants in the total plant cover were determined as 36.9 %, 22.0 % and 41.1 %, respectively. It was determined that the averaged ...More
Amygdalin is a glycoside which commonly found in the seeds of stone fruits. This active ingredient has a great importance in drug industry. Amygdalin is commonly obtained from the seeds of three different Prunus species (almond, cherry laurel and apricot) by producing in vitro callus cultures. In this study, analyses of amygdalin was performed with HPLC from the explants, calluses and kernels of these three species. According to the results obtained, the maximum amygdalin was noted from the whole kernel of the apricot fruits as 5888.45 mg per 100 gwhereas the maximum amygdalin content of cotyl ...More
The aim of this study was to determine the genetic diversity of 18 tea (Camellia sinensis) genotypes and 6 varieties collected from different provinces in the Black Sea region of Turkey. DNA isolation was performed according to the CTAB method of tea samples. PCR was performed for all DNA samples with 59 ISSR primers. In order to determine the genetic relationship between tea genotypes among these primers, 15 polymorphic ISSR primers were used. At the end of the PCR procedures, the polymorphism rate was determined as 77?rom the bands formed. As a result of the analysis of products obtained by ...More
This research was carried out in 2018 in order to determine the hay yields, forage qualities botanical compositions and range conditions of 5 different natural rangelands located at different altitudes the Chuy Region, Kyrgyzstan. In the rangelands, the ratio of plant coverage was 96.0-98.0%, the ratio of grasses, legumes, other plant families in the plant covered area was 24.5-48.1%, 4.7-24.0%, 36.2-63.8%, respectively. In the rangelands, the rate of decreaser, increaser and invader species was 37.0%, 7.3% and 55.7%, respectively. The average dry matter yield (DMY) of all five ranges was 2904 ...More
Determination of different gene sources is important for plant breeding studies; therefore, local genotypes are of interest. In this study, collected genotypes were hybridizied with commercial genotypes in order to transfer some traits such as disease resistance and long shelf life to local genotypes. After that, obtained genotypes were self pollinated twice and gene pool was created according to some morphological traits. Nine different groups were created from combinations according to result of clustering analysis. Result of principal component analysis (PCA) revealed that total rate of 65. ...More
