Efficient in vitro plant regeneration from immature embryos of endemic Iris sari and I. schachtii

Ali İrfan İLBAŞ

Plant tissue culture is an efficient technique for conserving endemic plant species. A reproducible in vitro regeneration protocol was developed for the endemic Iris sari and Iris schachtii in the present study. The highest number of shoots per explant was obtained on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/L thidiazuron (TDZ) plus 0.5 mg/L α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) and 1 mg/L TDZ plus 0.5 mg/L NAA, whereby 96.88% and 100% shoot induction with 9.55 and 11.34 shoots per explant of Iris sari and Iris schachtii were recorded, respectively. Regenerated shoots were successfull ...More

Protective effect of esterified glucomannan on aflatoxin-induced changes in testicular function, sperm quality, and seminal plasma biochemistry in rams

Nurcan DÖNMEZ

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of aflatoxin (AF) on spermatologic, biochemical, and testis parameters in rams, and the protective efficiency of esterified glucomannan (EG) co-administered with AF. Thirty-two Merino rams (12–14 months old) were used. The experimental design consisted of four dietary treatments. The control group was fed commercial feed. The AF group was fed with commercial feed plus 250 μg/d of total AF. The EG group received commercial feed plus 2 g/d of EG. The AF + EG group was given commercial feed plus 250 μg/d of total AF and 2 g/d of EG. There were tre ...More

Comparison of hatchability and some egg quality characteristics in spotted and unspotted partridge (Alectoris chukar) eggs

Tamer ÇAĞLAYAN

The current research was conducted to determine the comparison of hatchability and some egg quality characteristics in spotted and unspotted partridge (Alectoris chukar) eggs. The research was carried out on 51 male and 102 female chukar partridges (Alectoris chukar) aged 50 wk, which were raised at the Research and Application Farm of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Selcuk University. In total, 244 spotted and 261 unspotted eggs were used in the research. The hatching eggs were stored at 75% RH and 13°C for 14 d. Thirty spotted and 30 unspotted eggs laid on the same day were used for th ...More

An influence of Peptide Factors of Prostate Adenoma in Men on Morphological and Functional Condition of Prostate Gland of Experimental Rabbits

Gülbübü KURMANBEKOVA | Salkın BEYŞENALİYEVA | Nurcamal ÖMÜRZAKOVA | Kadırbay ÇEKİROV

In experimental conditions, an influence of intramuscular introducing of peptides, isolated from man prostate adenoma, was studied on 25 male rabbits. It was shown, that intramuscular introducing Fraction 1 to animals, to their tissue of prostate glands, during 15 days forms an intensive excrescence of connective tissue. In rabbits, which received Fraction 2, proliferation of glands’ epithelium is formed. Maximal intensity of excrescent glandular tissue of prostate gland is observed on 10 day after finishing of 15-days introducing. – Key words: prostate gland peptides, male rabbits, prostate ...More

Bioregulatory Basic Peptides Liberated from Gall-Bladder Inflammatory Wall of People Who are Sick with Acute Cholecystitis after Laparatomy Cholecystectomy

Gülbübü KURMANBEKOVA | Salkın BEYŞENALİYEVA | Kadırbay ÇEKİROV | Nurcamal ÖMÜRZAKOVA

From inflammatory, deleted gall-bladder wall of people who are sick with phlegmonous cholecystitis after laparatomy cholecystectomy by method of acetous extraction there were liberated 3 peptide factors. There was studied the influence of 15-day intramuscular injection of the third peptide factor onto hemostasis during the experiment on rabbits. There was shown that the third layer (fraction) of acute phlegmonous cholecystitis is most approximate by molecular mass to fibrinogenous of people who are sick with acute cholecystitis. Storing and circulation of the third peptide factor liberated fro ...More

The Character of Diploid Variation Chromosome Set of Animal Species Bos Taurus, Bos Grinniens, Ovis Aries and Equus Caballus

Kadırbay ÇEKİROV | Gülbübü KURMANBEKOVA | Salkın BEYŞENALİYEVA | Nurcamal ÖMÜRZAKOVA

Quantity of chromosomes in metaphase cell of farm animal is accidental discrete quantity because it will give them fixed value which is usually expressed in the whole numeral. Distribution of this character has a specific feature -excessive accumulation of frequencies in the central class of variational series. The authors analysed the laws of distribution of the number chromosomes in cattle yak, sheep and horses with normal chromosomes and it was found that the distribution of the chromosome number (2n) in the studied animals follows to the type of excessive regularities distribution. – Key w ...More
