This report deals with the state of corpus linguistics in Turkic languages and discusses the nature of corpus linguistics as a discipline. Its aim is to call attention to existing online corpora in some Turkic languages and to reveal problems in corpus creation for these languages and for Natural Language Processing.
The research studies the Kyrgyz wedding as a subject of socio-cultural and linguistic analysis. The theory of cultural scripts is selected as an effective tool for describing linguistic semantics from the cognitive perspective. The Jew's harp music effect was examined in the context of observation, interview and music sessions. Representatives from two cultural groups (American and Kyrgyz) participated in the music sessions. The research defined and measured how independent variable (Jew's harp music) acted upon the dependent variables (consciousness, emotion, associations, imagery) that evoked in the respondent's consciousness.
