Synthesis and characterization of biocompatible poly(maleic acid-co-citric acid) microparticles as a smart carrier for thiamine

Nahit AKTAŞ

Novel biocompatible homo and co-polymeric microparticles were synthesized from maleic acid (MA) and citric acid (CA) for uptake/release thiamine as a model drug. Surfactant-free self-emulsion polymerization technique was accomplished to synthesize the microparticles in a single step. The antimicrobial, antioxidant properties of those microparticles and their thiamine uptake/release capacities were investigated. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), particle-size/zeta-potential (Zeta/DLS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) instruments were utilize ...Более

DETERMINATION OF NUT PROPERTIES AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS OF WALNUT (JUGLANS REGIA L.) GENOTYPES GROWN IN WALNUT-FRUIT FORESTS OF KYRGYZSTAN

Ali Osman SOLAK | Kalıypa SALİYEVA | İbrahim İlker ÖZYİĞİT | Bakıt BORKOYEV

In this study, sixteen genotypes selected from walnut-fruit forests in the Osh and Jalal-Abad regions of Kyrgyzstan evaluated for nut properties and chemical composition. The nut traits such as nut dimension, nut and kernel weight, kernel ratio, and shell thickness were investigated. The ash, protein, oil, carbohydrate content and fatty acid composition of genotypes were also evaluated. The ranges of average nut characteristics determined for the selected genotypes were: 27.4-32.1 mm nut length; 23.8-28.6 mm nut width; 24.1-29.0 mm nut suture; 7.15-13.17 g nut weight; 3.26-5.65 g kernel weight ...Более

Developing poly(Agar-co-Glycerol-co-Thyme Oil) based organo-hydrogels for the controlled drug release applications

Nahit AKTAŞ

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the synthesis, characterization and drug release behaviors of organohydrogels containing pH-sensitive Agar (A), Glycerol (G), Thyme Oil (TO). The novel organo-hydrogels containing TO were prepared in an emulsion media by the free-radical polymerization and crosslinking reactions among Agar (A), Glycerol (G), TO, N, N, methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) or glutaraldehyde (GA) reagent. Swelling ability (ethanol, acetone, ethanol/ID water (1:1), acetone/ID water (1:1) and gasoline environments and different pH), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) a ...Более

ПЕРСПЕКТИВНЫЕ МЕТОДЫ СОХРАНЕНИЯ КАЧЕСТВ ЯДЕР ОРЕХА (JUGLANS REGIA) ПРИ ХРАНЕНИИ

Kalıypa SALİYEVA | Bakıt BORKOYEV

A novel highly sensitive carbon-based HMPD/GC sensor electrode: copper ions analysis in flour and water samples

Ali Osman SOLAK

In this research, (Z)-2-(2-(hydroxyimino)-2-(3-methyl-3-phenylcyclobutyl) ethyl)-3a,7a-dihy-dro-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione, HMPD molecule has been grafted to the glassy carbon (GC) electrode surface. The HMPD-modified GC electrode has been originally developed and it used for the quantitative determination of Cu(II) in flour and water samples. The modification steps have been performed using cyclic voltammetry (CV). CV, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy have been employed for the characterization processes. Cu(II) standard solutions changing from 1.0 x 10( ...Более

Characterization of p(PmO), p(LO) and p(RO) organoparticles, their bioactivity properties and their effect on pancreatic cancer Capan-1 cell

Nahit AKTAŞ

For the first time in the literature, p (PmO), p (LO) and p (RO) organo-particles were synthesized from Peppermint oil, Lemon oil and Rose oil. Of the organo-particles L-929 cell line viability/cytotoxicity and anticancer effect against Capan-1 pancreatic cancer cell line were investigated. p (PmO), p (LO) and p (RO) organo-particles were featured by thermogravimetry (TGA), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Particle size (DLS), and particle charge (zeta potential, Zeta) analyses. Antioxidant, biocompatible, and antimicrobial activities and in v ...Более

Effect of surfactant materials to nanoparticles formation under pulsed plasma conditions and their antibacterial properties

Emil ÖMÜRZAK | Ruslan ADİL AKAY TEGİN

Pulsed plasma between two Zn rods submerged into aqueous solution of cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) surfactants resulted in formation of pure ZnO nanorods, while the pulsed plasma between two Zn rods in water without surfactant yielded a mixture of ZnO and Zn nanoparticles. Carbon coated ZnO nanorods with about 20 nm thickness and 150 nm length were synthesized by this method using different surfactant materials such as CTAB and SDS. Cu nanoparticles of about 10 nm in size were also synthesized by the pulsed plasma in aqueous solution of 0.2 % gelatine ...Более

Molecular imprinted polymers: important advances in biochemistry, biomedical and biotechnology

Kalıypa SALİYEVA | Bakıt BORKOYEV

Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are handmade receptors that mimic the binding of natural antibodies. In other words, MIPs can selectively bind to the target molecule and qualify as bio-inspired synthetic materials. Today, MIPs are used extensively and are being developed further for biological applications. High cost and time consuming techniques are compelling factors for the field of biochemistry, biomedicine and biotechnology (3B), and there is an urgent need for an alternative, cheap, easy to produce, fast and effective method in these fields. MIPs stand out as a promising way for th ...Более
