What Defines the University Choice? The Case of Higher Education in Kyrgyzstan

This study analysed the effectiveness of university promotion methods and factors affecting applicants' choices. The study used a quantitative approach with a sample of 7839 university applicants. Results show that the most influential factor affecting university choice is the economic factors such as tuition fees, scholarships, etc.; nevertheless, family income is not among them. Education quality and academic staff also affect the choice. Besides, there were differences in the factors such as gender, region, family structure and secondary school background of the applicants.

An algorithm for line matching in an image by mapping into an n-dimensional vector space

This paper proposes a minimal length difference algorithm for construction of a line in an image by solving the problem of optimal contour approximation. In this algorithm, a method for finding interest points is proposed, and the object matching (classification) is done by mapping interest points onto a vector space. In cases where the lines in the representation of the images are not smooth, the algorithm converges rapidly. Learning management system implementation: a case study in the Kyrgyz Republic

A Central Asian View of E-Government Services Adoption: Citizens' Trust and Intention to Use E-Services

Results of survey from a snowball convenient sample of Kyrgyz respondents (N = 216) showed that employees of private sector are more likely to use government websites than those of government employees themselves and level of knowledge about security issues directly related to intention to use of Kyrgyz government websites.
