Employment Vulnerability and Earnings in Kyrgyzstan

Employment vulnerability is considered as working under inadequate conditions. This research examined the impact of employment vulnerability on earnings with special reference to gender-based differences. Analyses were based on panel data for 2010-2013 and 2016 from the household survey. A panel data fixed-effects model with instrumental variable within the Lewbel (2012) method was applied to estimate an earnings equation. Remittances and labor supply of the left-behind youth: Evidence from Kyrgyzstan

This paper examines whether remittances from international migration impact on the occupational choice of left-behind youth in Kyrgyzstan. Labor supply is analyzed both at the extensive and intensive margins using cross-sectional data for 2011. To overcome endogeneity concerns, an instrumental variable approach was implemented. Findings demonstrate that migration, rather than remittances, pushes the left-behind youth to become unpaid family workers. This paper investigates the relationships between SO2, NOx, CO, VOC, NH3, CO2 emissions,income, and energy consumption in Europe from 1990 to 2012. This study aims to examine performance of artificial neural networks (ANN) in forecasting stock market index movement. The forecasting is based on two samples of Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) data and each consisting of 150 observations. Forecasting performance is assessed in one, five and ten day periods. Results show that ANN gives high percentage of correctly forecasted signs. This performance is particularly evident in five days period, while conventional approach mostly uses next day forecasting. Empirical analysis is based on the data from the fifth wave of the Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey. Innovation of SMEs is measured with five innovation practices.
