A novel carbohydrate antigen 125 electrochemical sensor based on sweet almond oil organo-hydrogels

Nahit AKTAŞ

Ovarian cancer is a gynecological disease causing many deaths among women around the world. Carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA-125) is a single biomarker known to be a tumor marker of ovarian cancer. CA-125 is widely used to monitor the treatment process, recurrences, and for the detection of ovarian cancer. Herein, organo-hydrogels were prepared in order to detect CA-125 sensitively in serum medium with electrochemical methods. Organo-hydrogels were obtained by the free radical polymerization reaction using agar and glycerol with varying proportions of sweet almond oil using methylene bisacrylamide ...Более

The enhanced TiO2-supported CdTe photocatalysts for photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide electrooxidation

Nahit AKTAŞ

At present, titanium dioxide (TiO2)-supported CdTe photocatalysts were prepared by wet impregnation method for photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) electrooxidation. The structural and morphology surface analyses of these photocatalysts were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) and mapping analysis, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), ultraviolet–visible (UV–VIS) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). In addition, the photocatal ...Более

Novel gallium-based voltammetric sensor for sensitive detection of cysteine

Nahit AKTAŞ

Carbon nanotube-supported gallium (Ga/CNT) was synthesized and characterized with energy dispersive X-ray scanning electron microscopy, temperature-programmed reduction, temperature-programmed oxidation, and temperature-programmed desorption methods. Characterization results revealed successful preparation of Ga/ CNT. Electrochemical measurements were performed by cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The Ga/CNT-based cysteine sensor had a linear response within the range of 0-200 mu M with current sensitivity of 0.0081 mu A/mu M (114 m ...Более

The role and effect of CdS-based TiO2 photocatalysts enhanced with a wetness impregnation method for efficient photocatalytic glucose electrooxidation

Nahit AKTAŞ

The 0.1 CdS-based TiO2 photocatalysts with different atomic ratios were synthesized by the wetness impregnation (WI) method. These photocatalysts were characterized to actively determine surface area using TPx analyses (TPR, TPO, and TPD). Furthermore, surface structures and properties of photocatalysts were defined by analyses such as XRD, UV-VIS spectroscopy, SEM-EDX and mapping, fluorescence spectroscopy, TEM-EDS, and XPS. The photocatalytic activities of photocatalysts were examined by CV, CA, and EIS electrochemical analyses to investigate use in photocatalytic fuel cells (PFCs) in glucos ...Более

Novel Cacao oil-based organo-hydrogels to detect carcinoma antigen 125 in serum medium; synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical measurements

Nahit AKTAŞ

In present study, cacao oil-based organo-hydrogels (OHCOs) are synthesized to detect carcinoma antigen 125 (CA-125) in serum medium with electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). OHCOs are prepared by the free radical polymerization reaction with agar, glycerol, and distinct ratios of cacao oil with glutaraldehyde (GA) crosslinker or methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) crosslinker. OHCOs are characterized via Fourier Transform Infrared Spec-troscopy (FT-IR), in different solvent environments and pH ...Более

Photocatalytic glucose electrooxidation of titanium dioxide doped CdTe enhanced for a photocatalytic fuel cell

Nahit AKTAŞ

The 0.1 CdTe/TiO2 photocatalysts with different atomic molar ratios (90-10, 70-30, 50-50, and 30-70) were synthesized by the wetness impregnation method and characterized by the XRD, SEM-EDX and mapping, N2 adsorption-desorption, ICP-MS, TEM-EDS and STEM mapping, UV-VIS spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, XPS, TPR, TPO, and TPD analyses. The photocatalytic activities were examined to investigate by CV, CA, and EIS electrochemical analyses for photocatalytic fuel cells (PFCs) in glucose solution in the dark and under UV illu-mination. The characterization analyses revealed that anatase TiO ...Более

Promoting formic acid and ethylene glycol electrooxidation activity on Ga modified Pd based catalysts

Hilal DEMİR KIVRAK | Nahit AKTAŞ

Herein, carbon nanotube (CNT)-supported Ga@PdAgCo catalysts were synthesized by sodium borohydride (SBH) sequential reduction method. These catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Characterization results revealed that these catalysts were succesfully preared at desired loading and atomic ratios. From the XRD pattern, the crystallite size of 0.5 Ga@PdAgCo(80:10:10)/CNT catalysts was found as 6.95 nm by utilizing the Scherrer equation. From ...Более

Nahit AKTAŞ

The activated carbon (AC), graphene (G), reduced graphene oxide (rGO), carbon nanotube (CNT) supported CdTe photocatalysts at (50-50) atomic molar are synthesized by the sodium borohydride (SBH) method and characterized by the XRD, Micro-Raman, TEM-EDS, XPS, and TPx (TPR, TPO, and TPD) analyses. The CV, CA, and EIS electrochemical analyses are performed to investigate the catalytic activities of catalysts for photocatalytic glucose electrooxidation. Characterization analyses reveal that their electronic structures and surface properties change when carbon materials are doped with metal. The ph ...Более

Synthesis and characterization of novel organo-hydrogel based agar, glycerol and peppermint oil as a natural drug carrier/release material

Nahit AKTAŞ

The very recent Covid-19 pandemic has made the need to understand biocompatible polymers as support material in drug delivery systems and controlled release clearer, especially for organo-hydrogels. This study aims to synthesize various new polymeric materials called gels, hydrogels, and organo-hydrogels according to the monomer used and to investigate their use as drug release systems. The agar-glycerol (AG) pair was used to synthesize the polymers, N, N, methylene bisacrylamide (MBA, m) and glutaraldehyde (GA, g) were used as cross-linkers and peppermint oil (PmO) was included to obtain the ...Более

Nahit AKTAŞ

Among the various metal ions, chromate (Cr(VI)) and arsenate (As(V)) are the two most hazardous toxic ion species and are found in nature in the form of dichromate and arsenate anions. In this investigation, polyethyleneimine (PEI)-based hydrogels were prepared with microgel, cryogel, and bulkgel morphologies employing glycerol diglycidyl ether as a crosslinker. The prepared PEI-based hydrogels were used to remove dichromate and arsenate anions from aqueous media. PEI microgel, cryogel, and bulkgels weighing 50 mg of each adsorbed 84.7 /- 0.8, 76.5 /- 5.2, and 108.9 /- 2.4 mg.g(-1) of dichroma ...Более
