Nomadic pastoralism and interaction zones (The case of pre-Soviet Kyrgyz pastoralism)

This paper re-conceptualizes the four-seasonal cycling tradition of pre-Soviet Kyrgyz pastoralism, reconsidering the existing archival and oral materials. It argues that the summer quarters (zhailoo) in nomadic cycling were core contact zones for whole clan-based Kyrgyz community in pre-Soviet time whereas, the other winter, spring and autumn quarters remained in the margins. Study of support for high school students from school methodological services (An examination of the support high school students receive from school guidance services)

The aim of the study was to examine the support that high school students have received from school guidance services. The data were collected using a questionnaire which developed by the researcher. The data were collected through guidance counselors from the records of a total of 2 755 students (1 529 females and 1 226 males) who received support from the guidance services of four different high school types. When the results of the study were examined by the gender variable, it was concluded that female students received more support from the school guidance service than male students.

Comparative analysis of ideas about self efficacy in relation to special education and inclusive education

The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a linear relationship between guidance counselors’ self-efficacy perceptions about special education and their attitudes towards inclusive education. The design of the study was based on the quantitative and descriptive survey research. The research group of the study consisted of 173 guidance counselors who were randomly selected among 246 guidance counselors working in public schools in Sakarya in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Cultural and ideological analysis of the 1947 'Sovetskaya Kirgiziya' documentary film

An ideological and cultural analysis was made to the documentary film 'Sovetskaya Kirgiziya' shot in 1947 for the memory of the twentieth anniversary of the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic. In this study, which uses discourse and content analysis methods, the text, images and sound of the documentary were examined separately. International women’s day: ostensible celebrations or historical milestone of women’s emancipation

The article is devoted to the information coverage of 8 March International Women’s Day as a historical symbol of women’s struggle for changes in their lives and in society. We analysed the media coverage of it in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Norway. The qualitative analysis shows that the general conditions of women were ignored and good looking and well-educated women were portrait to mark the activities of International Women’s Day.
