First report on seroprevalence of bluetongue, border disease and peste des petits ruminants virus infections in sheep in Kyrgyzstan

In this study, the presence of antibodies against Bluetongue Virus (BTV), Border Disease Virus (BDV) and Peste des Petits Ruminants virus (PPRV), were evaluated for the first time in Kyrgyzstan. A total of 655 serum samples were collected from healthy sheep (Jaydara breed) from different regions of Kyrgyzstan (144 from Issik Gol region, 208 from Narin region, 189 from Talas region and 114 from Çuy region). Treatment of ophidism-induced bilateral canine cataract by extracapsular lens extraction and intraocular lens implantation

The aim of this study was to report a new cause of cataract, namely snake bite induced cataract in a dog. A 3-year-old male mongrel dog was referred to our clinic for the assessment of cataract in both eyes. The dog was bitten by a snake nearly 4 months ago. Detection of Antibodies Against Blue Tongue Virus in Yaks (Bos Grunniens) in Issyk Kul, First Report

Bluetongue virus (BTV) caused infection is commonly determined in ruminants including sheep and cattle. However, there is a little information about the seroprevalence of BTV in yaks. The aim of this study was to describe the seroprevalence rate BTV in unvaccinated yaks in Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan. A total of 168 serum samples were collected from yaks between September to November 2012. Surgical removal of a luxated lens in a common buzzard (Buteo buteo)

The aim of this study were to report a case of unilateral spontaneous anterior lens luxation associated with retinal detachment and surgical removal in a common buzzard. An adult common buzzard (Buteo buteo) of unknown sex, free-fly was found unable to fly on a pasture during the day. In the left eye the lens was luxated into the anterior chamber. The luxated lens was removed from the anterior chamber by an irrigation/aspiration technique after corneal incision. Uveadermatological syndrome (Vogt-Koyanagi- Harada-like syndrome) with depigmentation in a Siberian Husky

The aim of this study to present the cytogenetic approach in a case of uveodermatologic syndrome in a 18-months-old, male, Siberian Husky. This dog was referred with a history of vision impairment and bilateral redish eyes. Clinical examination confirmed depigmentation over the lips and mouth mucosal area. On ophthalmic examination there was bilateral dilated pupilla, depigmentation of the fundus with visionable choroidal vessels, posterior uveitis, and loss of vision. In experimental conditions, an influence of intramuscular introducing of peptides, isolated from man prostate adenoma, was studied on 25 male rabbits. It was shown, that intramuscular introducing Fraction 1 to animals, to their tissue of prostate glands, during 15 days forms an intensive excrescence of connective tissue.
