Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of upland rice is established in few numbers of cultivars due to the high cultivar-specificity of regeneration from transformed explants. Further, dehalogenase E (dehE) gene had been characterized in Pseudomonas putida and it produces an enzyme that degrades dalapon.
