Islamic Revivalism and Women in Kyrgyzstan: The Case of the Tablighi Jamaat

Since the end of communism, Kyrgyzstan, like other Muslim-majority regions of the former Soviet Union, has experienced an ‘Islamic revival’. Among its manifestations has been a rising number of veiled women. Many of them have joined the Tablighi Jamaat (the Society for Spreading Faith) which provides Islamic teaching (taalim) and organises weekly religious sessions (ijtimas). This paper explores the impact of the security problems of Afghanistan on Kyrgyzstan's current national security situation. Kyrgyzstan: In search for stability

In the last two decades, Kyrgyzstan has searched for stability while swinging on a pendulum between democratic reforms and suppression of democracy. Political changes in Kyrgyzstan started with the liberal democratic promises of President Akayev in 1990 and President Bakiyev in 2005, but they both ended with disillusionment. Comparative analysis of ideas about self efficacy in relation to special education and inclusive education

The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a linear relationship between guidance counselors’ self-efficacy perceptions about special education and their attitudes towards inclusive education. The design of the study was based on the quantitative and descriptive survey research. The research group of the study consisted of 173 guidance counselors who were randomly selected among 246 guidance counselors working in public schools in Sakarya in the 2018-2019 academic year.
