This study analyzes online electoral campaigns of candidates for 2011 Presidential Elections in Kyrgyzstan in order to explore interactivity – as a way for improving participation, information, and interest, and the relationships between civil society and parties – within the websites and social network accounts of the candidates. The election involved 19 candidates to the presidency. Total 13 websites, 5 Facebook accounts, 6 Twitter accounts and 4 Odnoklassniki of candidates were monitored during election campaign period of 25 September and 27 October 2011.
Math anxiety is a psychological burden that can hinder individuals across their lifetimes. Methodological issues abound when conducting cross-cultural research. In this manuscript we discuss three methodological issues present in many cross-cultural communication studies: lack of geographic diversity, reliability, and validity. To explore these issues the Personal Report of Communication Apprehension (PRCA-24) is assessed. The article is devoted to the information coverage of 8 March International Women’s Day as a historical symbol of women’s struggle for changes in their lives and in society. We analysed the media coverage of it in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Norway. The qualitative analysis shows that the general conditions of women were ignored and good looking and well-educated women were portrait to mark the activities of International Women’s Day.
The article focuses on the revolutionary narrative in the TV series Trotsky, which was released on the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. Therefore, the general purpose of the study is to reveal the meaning of the October revolution in present-day Russia. A new reality has been tried to be constructed through the criticism of the cinematographic narrative and the method of planning and realizing the revolution.
